With Christmas already upon us (seriously how did it creep up this quick?) we wanted to let you guys know some dates that will affect our regular opening hours. We are open throughout the festive period, just on varying hours, so you guys can burn off those Christmas calories if you so wish, but this also allows the Crew to spend some quality time with friends & family members.
Dates and Opening Times that vary over the festive period are stated below:
Whether its for a regular climber or someone who has thought about taking up the sport, we have Gift Cards and Vouchers for everyone! They can be used for a range of things within the centre, from clothing and shoes within the shop to using it towards a 5/10 climb pass or even some private coaching session! The only thing that the Gift Cards can’t be used for is anything purchased through the cafe. Find all the info here on purchasing Gift Cards and Vouchers.
*Please note that gift cards can’t be used to purchase sessions online, they expire after 12 months of purchase date.
Within the New Year we are going to start running a Ladies Social Night run by our Crew Members Katie and Steph! These evenings will be a chilled out climbing session to meet new friends and potentially life long climbing partners! These nights will run weekly on Fridays and are free to attend, however you will need to be signed off as an independent boulderer or have a supervising climber with you as this isn’t a instructor led session. All you’d need to do is book at reception or online and pay the normal entry fee on the evening! A cup of tea shall be on the cards too! More details will be released come 2020!
December is hosting another edition of That Boulder Comp on the Friday 13th December! This round will be set by the inhouse crew again, with Guy heading up the setting team making sure there’s a range of blocs from easy to 6b! Kicking off around 6:30pm this social comp is one to get involved in, whether you’re new to climbing or if you’re a TBC regular!
The first round of the Winter Bouldering League kicked off last month with Richard Hill coming to Highball for the first time, and we think he came and delivered set some awesome blocs! Find the whole write up here. Round 2 of WBL is on the 27th December and starts a bit earlier than normal at 2:30pm, Guy and the team are setting so expect some of that Highball techers wizardry!
Unfortunatley within November we had to cancel the Lights Out Night. This month we are just confirming the best dates and times to host these events. We have been working with Petzl to get a collection of rental headtorches so you guys can most defintley see what you’re up too on the wall. Most Lights out happen in the evenings of Fridays however we are looking to hosting a child friendly session at the weekend at somepoint! Keep an eye on Socials for confirmed dates and times!
If you have been in on either a Wednesday or Thursday evening you may have noticed a delicious looking range of food choices. These are here to stay until the summer comes back around again.
Brunch has been a hit over the weekends and Steph has been working her cheffing magic to smash out as much as possible for everyone. Personal favourites from the Crew have to be the Spicy Breakfast Burrito & Halloumi and Avacado Muffin (better than maccy ds for sure).
We have been awarded a centre of excellence for 2 years running now! If you have 5 minutes, and feel we deserve a review, pop on there and give us a quite write-up of what you enjoyed about the centre! You’d be doing us a huge favour.
